Fresh out of the PE Dept. at UBC, Claudia started Atlantis Programs in 1986. Now overseeing all the bike and swim programs, she has two kids of her own. A strong proponent of community involvement, Claudia is the past PAC Co-Chair at Charles Dickens Elementary School and a board member of Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House. In 2006, Claudia was a finalist for the YWCA Women of Distinction award and in 2010 received the Good Neighbour award from the Association of Neighbourhood Houses.
Karen grew up in Nanaimo and moved to Vancouver in 1999 to attend UBC. She graduated in 2003 with a degree in Human Kinetics. She joined Atlantis in 2006 as the Office Administrator, 2 years later she moved into her current role as Manager, Human Resources. Karen’s favourite part of working at Atlantis is to see our former staff becoming everything from teachers to pediatric nurses, to out of school care leaders, and knowing they developed their love for kids here at Atlantis.
Connie completed her BA in Psychology from SFU and joined Atlantis Programs in 2008. Although transitioning into an accounting role, she helps ensure that the programs are running smoothly. She is an outcast in the office because she strongly believes that shopping is a form of exercise. Thankfully, she does enjoy playing volleyball and teaching her son how to ride his bike in her spare time. Connie currently resides in Vancouver with her husband and her 3 year old Pedalhead.
Ine got her Marketing and Communications degree in Belgium, Europe. She moved to Vancouver in 2008 and has been part of the Atlantis team since February 2009. Being an outdoor person she loves hiking, biking, swimming, and bear watching. She’s excited to be promoting kids health and development with Atlantis.
Sarah has been working for Pedalheads Alberta for several years as a supervisor and is now the Alberta Manager. She will be graduating from the UofC in 2011 with her BEd. Sarah is an avid mountain biker, hiker, and soccer player who loves working with children and sharing her love of the outdoors.
Audra joined the Pedalheads team in 2012. She worked as a Supervisor before becoming Alberta Manager. She has her BFA and BEd. She loves working with kids and aspires to be a teacher one day. Audra likes to create art, crochet and going on adventures along the Bow River with her dog.
Ben joined the Pedalheads® team in 2010, when we opened camps in Toronto. He worked as a Camp Supervisor for 2 summers before taking over as the Ontario Manager in 2012. A native of the UK, Ben graduated university with a BA in Tourism Studies, which spawned his great passion for travel and adventure. Before joining Pedalheads®, Ben spent several summers working as a sports coach/camp counselor in the UK & USA.
Sydney grew up in Montreal and graduated from McGill University in 2007. Her interest for travel and adventure led her to live and work in South Africa before settling down in Toronto. Sydney loves being outdoors and is extremely passionate about snow and water sports, which led to her teaching kids how to waterski and wakeboard at a summer camp in Vermont. She feels that there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the smile and excitement on a child’s face when they learn to do something new.
Ben grew up in Vancouver and has been with Pedalheads for 15 years. Ben started as a volunteer with Pedalheads in 1999 and has been with them ever since, later becoming a Regional Manager in Alberta and Ontario. He attended UVIC where he graduated with a BA and BEd in 2012. It was through Pedalheads that Ben gained his passion for teaching and coaching kids, leading to his degree in elementary education. Ben is a very passionate and avid Canucks fan and enjoys a variety of sports and athletics. Ben is a huge advocate of exercise, food, and fun!
Brigitte joined the Atlantis team in 2004 as a lifeguard/swim instructor and then worked for several years as a Pedalheads Supervisor and Training Facilitator. Possessing her B.A. in Sociology, Brigitte spent three years working in Communications for BC Hydro and recently returned to Atlantis. She has a zest for a healthy lifestyle, loves the gym and rollerblading the seawall. On the side, she pursues a passion for voice acting and the performing arts.
Nick grew up in Vancouver and completed his post-secondary education at UVIC. He has been with the Pedalheads team since 2003. He started off as an instructor at the Pedalheads location in Jericho and moved onto the Vancouver Centre location where he went onto become Supervisor, a role he has enjoyed for the past 5 summers. In his off time, Nick enjoys playing hockey and squash as well jamming to rock n’ roll tunes on his guitar. Nick is also a firm believer in fun!
Graeme is from a lot of places, but has called Vancouver home for the past 20 years. He has a B.A in Psychology, loves to get out to the park with his family, and sometimes finds the time to play guitar. As Operations and Equipment Manager, he can’t think of too many things that are more fun than building teeter-totters for aspiring Trial riders.
Samantha has a love and admiration of biological & social sciences as well as a fondness of nature and motorcycle rides. Recently married, she is currently working on completing her Bachelor of Biomedical Physiology at Simon Fraser University, and looks forward to having her own little Pedalhead someday! Samantha loves fun facts and consistently brings new ideas and a smile with her everywhere she goes.
Mira is an enthusiastic Atlantis alumni, having started swimming lessons at age 5. She recently graduated from UVIC in 2010 with a degree in Anthropology. After traveling around Europe for 5 months, she is very excited to join the team! Mira loves staying fit by going to the gym and taking long walks on Jericho beach.
After completing all Swim Kids levels, Donna worked as both a Junior Instructor and Instructor at Pedalheads, and has now found her home at the head office. She is currently studying pop culture and film studies at UBC and enjoys swimming, kick boxing, and the Dailey Method in her spare time. Donna places high value in kids education and believes that laughter really is the best medicine.
Sarah has lived in Vancouver most of her life. She loves playing volleyball and being with friends in her spare time. She is currently going to UBC and studying Pyschology. Sarah has a passion for people!
Megan moved to Vancouver 2 years ago from Alberta. She fell in love with Vancouver instantly and has appreciated every minute spent in the city. She is currently going to Langara and studying Human Kinetics. Along with working at Atlantis Programs this summer she also instructs indoor cycling classes. She loves working with people and tries to inspire families to become active. She is excited about spending the summer with the Atlantis team!
Gabby started swimming at a very young age and has finished all her levels. She got her degree in Natural Resource Management from UBC in 2011, and is currently back at school studying accounting. Gabby enjoys hiking and spending time with friends and family. She is also very passionate about food.
